As a family we operate a thriving grain and sheep business on thirteen thousand hectares in the Western Australian wheatbelt just over two hours drive from Perth the state capital city.

Our natural style of farming produces safe and healthy grains, sheepmeat and wool. We have built the natural attributes of our farm’s soil, water and vegetation to be highly productive with little or no use of chemicals. No-till grain production reduces use of fossil fuels and carbon emissions.

We started with only 660 hectares of degraded land and with good farming practices we made our land productive again.
We then scaled-up to our present 13, 000 hectares.

With the success of our farming system, we now want to further scale-up our business for greater profits in several areas.

    1. Build a grain storage system to enable value-added food production with the opportunity of accessing grain supplies from other farmers who are accredited in our sustainable production methods.

The first stage would be grain storage capacity of 10, 000 tonnes costing AUD5-6 million. The second stage would then be to expand storage capacity to 100, 000 tonnes costing a further AUD 25 million.

    2. Create opportunities for health and environmentally conscious consumers to access safe and nutritious food products such as baby food; breakfast cereals; frozen dough; flour; pasta noodles; bread; whole grains; pre-biotics; craft beer and spirits.

    3. Buy more land at the very affordable land prices in our district to increase our farm size to 30, 000 hectares to expand grains and sheep production.

Our sustainable farming methods will provide other sources of income such as selling carbon credits under the Australian Government’s Emissions Reduction Fund.

It will also enable the expanded business to restore more land in the agricultural landscape, reduce impacts on our local climate and increase the value of the farming assets.

WHAT DOES OUR IDEAL STRATEGIC EQUITY PARTNER LOOK LIKE?

To scale-up our business, achieve the opportunities markets are now presenting, enhance profits and expand the value of the business, we require investment capital.

Our preferred investment model is through a joint venture partner or partners where we offer business equity in the grain storage, food production and/or farming operations.

Our ideal new business equity partner/s will be committed to our sustainable farming system based on caring for the soil, water and vegetation of our farm for the future.

They will also be committed to supply health and environmentally conscious consumers safe and nutritious foods with limited impact on the environment.
